there’s so much discernment needed to navigate these realms because indoctrination and being led astray are real possibilities.

having a good teacher is such a gift because to be a good teacher is one that always recognize the dynamic of power—not only recognizing it but also not exploiting it.

our culture places teachers as authorities over what can be known and props up institutions as the only “worthy” and “credible” places for learning to take place. both couldn’t be further from the truth …
